हावड़ा ब्रिज के बारे में तथ्य – Fact about Howrah Bridge

1. हावड़ा ब्रिज हुगली नदी पर बना एक बहुत ही मशहूर पुल है जो पश्चिम बंगाल के दो बड़े शहरों हावड़ा और कोलकाता को जोड़ता है। यह कोलकाता की संस्कृति का प्रतीक बन चुका है।

2. यह दुनिया का सबसे व्यस्त (Busiest) पुल है।

3. यह पुल/सेतु 2,313 फ़ीट लम्बा और 269 फ़ीट ऊँचा है। इसकी चौड़ाई 71 फ़ीट है, जिसमें दोनों तरफ 15-15 फ़ीट चौड़े दो फूटपाथ भी हैं।

4. यह पुल 73 साल पुराना है। इसे बनने में लगभग 6 साल लगे। 3 फ़रवरी, 1943 में इसका इस्तेमाल शुरू हुआ, जो आज तक जारी है।

5. हावड़ा ब्रिज पर हर रोज 1 लाख से भी ज्यादा गाड़ियाँ गुजरती हैं और 1.5 लाख पैदलयात्री (वर्तमान में इससे भी ज्यादा) इस पर चलते हैं।

6. इसकी क्षमता 60,000 टन वजन सहने की है। लेकिन बढ़ती जनसंख्या ने ट्रैफिक को इतना बढ़ा दिया कि आज हावड़ा ब्रिज पर हर समय 90,000 टन का वजन रहता है। इसीलिए कई ट्रामों और ज्यादा वजनी ट्रकों को दूसरे रास्तों या पुलों पर स्थानांतरित किया जा रहा है।

7. यह पूरा पुल उच्च-तन्य मिश्रधातु (High-tensile alloy) स्टील का बना हुआ है, जिसे Tiscrom कहा जाता है।

8. इसे बनाने में 26,500 टन स्टील खपत हुई थी, जिसमें से 87% स्टील ‘टाटा स्टील कम्पनी’ द्वारा ख़रीदा गया था।

9. इस परियोजना (Project) के लिए सारी स्टील इंग्लैंड से लायी जा रही थी। लेकिन जापान के धमकी की वजह से सिर्फ 3000 टन स्टील ही लाया जा सका। बाकि स्टील की खरीद ‘टाटा स्टील’ से की गयी।

10. आज जहाँ हावड़ा ब्रिज है दरअसल वहाँ कभी पोंटून (Pontoon) सेतु था, जिसे विकसित करके हावड़ा ब्रिज बनाया गया।

11. शुरुआत में इसका नाम ‘न्यू हावड़ा ब्रिज’ था। 14 जून, 1965 में बंगला साहित्य के महान कवि; प्रथम एशियाई और प्रथम भारतीय नोबेल पुरष्कार विजेता ‘रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर’ के सम्मान में इसका नाम बदलकर ‘रवीन्द्र सेतु’ कर दिया गया। लेकिन यह आज भी हावड़ा ब्रिज के नाम से ही जाना जाता है।

12. हुगली नदी पर हावड़ा ब्रिज के अलावा 5 और सेतु हैं:
विद्यासागर सेतु (दूसरी हुगली ब्रिज)
विवेकानन्द सेतु
निवेदिता सेतु
ईश्वर गुप्ता सेतु
नसीरपुर रेल ब्रिज (निर्माणाधीन)

13. 2000 फ़ीट से भी अधिक लम्बे इस पुल में सिर्फ 2 ही स्तंभ (Support) हैं, जिनकेबीच की लम्बाई 1500 फ़ीट है।

14. अपने निर्माण के समय यह पूरे विश्व में तीसरा (3rd) सबसे लम्बा पुल था। आज यह अपनी तरह का विश्व का छठा (6th) सबसे लम्बा पुल है।

15. हावड़ा ब्रिज के देखभाल की जिम्मेदारी ‘कोलकाता पोर्ट ट्रस्ट (KoPT)’ की है। इस ट्रस्ट की स्थापना हावड़ा ब्रिज के स्थापना से भी 73 साल पहले सन् 1870 मेंहुई थी।

16. इसे बनाने के इकरार (Contract) केलिए 20 से भी ज्यादा कम्पनियों को चुना गया था, जिसमें जर्मनी की एक कम्पनी ने सबसे कम की बोली लगाई। लेकिन विश्व युद्ध और राजनैतिक कारणों से इस कम्पनी को कॉन्ट्रैक्ट नहीं दिया जा सका।

17. आखिर में 1935 में इसका कॉन्ट्रैक्ट एक ब्रिटिश कम्पनी Cleveland Bridge & Engineering Co. Ltd. को दिया गया था। लेकिन इसकी संरचना Braithwaite Burn and Jessop Construction Co. Ltd. नामक कम्पनी द्वारा किया गया।

18. इस पूरे ब्रिज का प्रारूप (डिज़ाइन) Rendel, Palmer और Tritton के द्वारा किया गया था।

19. इस पूरे पुल को बनाने में; उस जमाने में 2 करोड़ 50 लाख की लागत आयी थी।

20. भारत में यह अपनी तरह का एकमात्र बाहुधरण (Cantilever) ब्रिज है।

21. गर्मियों के दिनों में इसकी लम्बाई करीब 3 फ़ीट तक बढ़ जाती है, क्योंकि अधिक तापमान में धातु (स्टील) पिघलती औरफैलती है।

22. पक्षियों द्वारा हावड़ा ब्रिज पर की जाने वाली गन्दगी से कोलकाता पोर्ट ट्रस्ट काफी परेशान है क्योंकि इससे ब्रिज की रासायनिक क्षति हो रही है। इसलिए ट्रस्ट हर साल ब्रिज से पक्षियों की गन्दगी हटाने के लिए 5 लाख का कॉन्ट्रैक्ट देता है।

23. लोगों के पान के थूक की वजह से भी ब्रिज की क्षति हो रही है। इसी वजह सेहावड़ा ब्रिज की स्टील पर जंग (Corrosion) लग रहा है।

24. इस पूरेब्रिज को Paint करने के लिए 26,500 लीटर Paint की खपत होती है, जिसमें लगभग 65 लाख रूपये खर्च होते हैं।

25. 2006 के शुरुआत में इसकी मरम्मत करवाई गयी थी, जिसमें 8 टन स्टील की खपत हुई थी। इस पूरे प्रक्रिया में 50 लाख रूपये खर्च हुए थे।

26. यह उम्दा अभियांत्रिकी (इंजीनियरिंग) की बेहतरीन मिसाल है क्योंकि इतने बड़े इस ब्रिज में एक भी नट-बोल्ट (Nut-Bolt) नहीं है। इसमें धातुओं को झलाई (Riveting/Welding) प्रक्रिया द्वारा जोड़ा गया है।

27. यह ब्रिज 60,000 वाहनों की क्षमता रखता है। लेकिन एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक 2007 में इस पर 90,000 गाड़ियाँ चल रही थी।

28. माना जाता है कि हावड़ा ब्रिज की कोई चाभी थी जिसे ब्रिटिश कम्पनी ने भारत को नहीं दिया। पुराने ज़माने में इस चाभी से ब्रिज को बड़े समुद्री जहाजों के लिए दो भागों में खोला जाता था। लेकिन इन बातों का कोई प्रमाण नहीं है।

29. 1953 से लेकर आज तक 30 से ज्यादा भारतीय फिल्मों में हावड़ा ब्रिज के दृश्य को दिखाया जा चुका है। इनमें विद्या बालन की ‘कहानी’, रणबीर सिंह और अर्जुन कपूर की ‘गुंडे’ और रणबीर कपूर की ‘बर्फी’ भी शामिल है।

1. पृथ्वी के आकार सूर्य के सामने इतना छोटा है कि सूर्य के अंदर पृथ्वी के आकार के 13,00,000 तारे फिट हो सकती है।

2. UK की रानी पृथ्वी की सतह के 1/6 हिस्से की कानूनन मालकिन है।

3. सूर्य की किरण को पृथ्वी पर पहुचने में करीब 8 मिनट और 20 सेकंड लगते है।

4. पृथ्वी पर 500 सक्रीय और विशाल ज्वालामुखी ऐसे है जिन्होंने धरती की सतह के निचले और ऊपरी भाग का 80 प्रतीशत हिस्सा अपनी ज्वालामुखी से राख से बना दिया है।

5. पृथ्वी पर गुरूत्वाकर्षण बल के कारण पर्वतों का 15,000 मीटर से ऊँचा होना संभव नही है।

6. धरती के सारे महाद्वीप पिछले 2.5 करोड़ साल से गति कर रहे है।

9. आप यकीन नहीं करेंगे लेकिन पृथ्वी के सारे महाद्वीप आज से 6.5 करोड़ साल पहले एक दूसरे से जुड़े हुए थे।

10. पृथ्वी आकाश गंगा का एकलौता ऐसा ग्रह है जिसमें टैकटोनिक प्लेटों की व्यवस्था है।

1. AIDS का फुल फॉर्म “Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome” है।

2. HIV का फुल फॉर्म “Human Immuno Deficiency Virus” है।

3. AIDS का रोग HIV विषाणु(Virus) के संक्रमण से होता है।

4. आपको शायद ही पता होंगा की HIV संक्रमण होने के बाद AIDS कि स्तिथि तक पहुचने में और लक्षण दिखने में 8-10 साल या ज्यादा समय भी लग सकता है यानी की कई सालों तक तो रोगी को पता ही नहीं चलता कि उसे आखिर हुआ क्या है।

5. विश्व एड्स दिवस 1 दिसंबर को मनाया जाता है। सबसे पहली बार यह 1 दिसंबर 1988 को मनाया गया था।

6. AIDS का अंतर्राष्ट्रीय चिन्ह लाल रिबन है जो 1991 में अपनाया गया था।

7. AIDS चार शब्दों से बना है। वो है – Acquired = जो आप ने प्राप्त किया, Immuno = शरीर की प्रतिरक्षा, Deficiency = कमी और Syndrome = संलक्षन। इसका सीधा अर्थ यह है कि वह रोग जो आपके शरीर की खुद की रक्षा करने की क्षमता को कम कर देती है।

8. इसी प्रकार HIV भी चार शब्दो से बना है – Human = मानव, Immuno= शरीर की प्रतिरक्षा,Deficiency =कमी और Virus = विषाणु। मतलब वह विषाणु जो किसी शरीर के अंदर उसकी रक्षा करने की शक्ति को कम करे।

9. दुनिया में 7 करोड़ लोग AIDS से पीड़ित हो चुके है जिनमें से 3 करोड़ 40 लाख लोग इसकी वजह से मारे भी जा चुके हैं।

10. आपको यकीन नहीं होंगा की वर्तमान समय में दुनिया में लगभग 4 करोड़ लोग AIDS से पीड़ित है।

11. जिनमे से 2 करोड़ 10 लाख टीनएजर्स है यानी जिनकी उम्र15 साल से नीचे हैं।

12. आपको शायद ही मालुम होंगा की HIV वायरस अफ्रीका में उभरा और 10 साल के भीतर ही पुरी दुनिया में फैल गया।

13. दुनिया में AIDS के 65 प्रतीशत मामले अफ्रीका के “सहारा” में है। इनमें से 90% बच्चे हैं।

14. स्वाज़ीलैंड नामक एक देश में ऐड्स का इतना प्रकोप है कि वहाँ एक 15 वर्ष के लड़के की 50 साल जीने की संभावना 28% है और लड़की की 20% मगर AIDS से पहले यह संभावना 92%और 97% थी।

15. सन् 2011 में लगभग 25,00,000 लोग एड्स से प्रभावित हुए जिनमें से 17,00,000 की मौत हो चुकी है। यह आंकड़ा साल दर साल बढ़ता चला जा रहा है।

16. एक सर्वे के मुताबिक अमेरिका में लगभग 11,00,000 से भी ज्यादा लोग HIV से पीड़ित है और इनमें से 18.1 प्रतीशत को यह भी नही पता की उन्हें यह बिमारी हुई है।

17. आपने कभी सोचा है कि इंजेक्शन में इस्तेमाल की जाने वाली सुई एक ही बार क्यों इस्तेमाल कर के फेंक दी जाती है नहीं पता तो हम बताते है क्योंकि HIV वायरस कमरे के तापमान (25℃) पर भी सूखे खून में 10-15 दिन तक जीवित रह सकता है।

18. HIV वायरस 60℃ से ज़्यादा तापमान में जीवित नहीं रह सकता।

19. दुनिया में हर रोज़ करीब 900 बच्चे HIV वायरस के प्रभाव में आते हैं। यह आंकड़े ज़्यादा भी हो सकते है।

20. साउथ अफ्रीका में HIV के सबसे ज्यादा 59,00,000 मामले सामने आये है।

21. बोत्सवाना(Botswana) अफ्रीका का ही एक देश है जहाँ AIDS के कारण एक औसत व्यक्ति का जीवन काल 65 साल से घट कर 35 साल रह गया है। ज़रा सोचिए कि ऐसा हाल अगर सभी देशों का हो गया तो हम कितने साल जिएँगे?

22. HIV से संबंधित सबसे सरल सिद्धांत को “Hunter Theory” भी कहा जाता है। इसके अनुसार 1930 के दशक में अफ्रीका में किसी व्यक्ति को पीड़ित बंदर ने काट लिया था और उसने बंदर का माँस खा लिया था जससे वह HIV पीड़ित हो गया। इसके बाद सेक्स संबंधों कारण यह वायरस फैलता गया।

23. अफ्रीका की कुल जनसंख्या में से दस प्रतिशत से ज्यादा लोग एड्स पीड़ित हैं। यहाँ हर रोज एड्स के कारण 4300 लोग मरते है।

24. एड्स पर बनी पहली हॉलीवुड फिल्म का नाम “एंड द बैंड प्लेड ऑन” था।

25. बिल्लियो को भी एड्स के समान ही एक बीमारी होती है, जिसे FIV कहते हैं।

26. भारत में एड्स का पहला मामला सन् 1986 में चेन्नई में सामने आया था।

27. AIDS अब तक सबसे ज्यादा पढ़ी जाने वाली बिमारी है। और फिर भी इसका कोई पुख्ता इलाज नहीं है।

28. ग्रीस में HIV होने के शक में पुलिस आपको गिरफ्तार भी कर सकती है।

29. कई बड़े- बड़े साइंटिस्टस् ने AIDS को सबसे घातक बीमारी में से एक माना है।
